From the (soon to be former) Commodore

Dear Members of the NWMA—

We are now on our summer hiatus.  No meetings in July, August and September.  Your job is to get out on the boat, and enjoy the sun and water.  Put down that sander, you hear me?

Oh.  There is one other little summer assignment.  Someone needs to volunteer to be the Commodore.   I have had a great time doing this job, but I am done for this round.  Part of the problem for me is that I have gradually taken over too much responsibility—I have been wrangling the speakers, putting on the regatta and acting as ceremonial head honcho.

We do have a solution to the over commitment problem:  I will keep the regatta.  Dan Hill has agreed to head up a speaker wrangling posse.  And we have great Secretary/Treasurer for life (Mark Olsoe), Membership Guy (Andrew Rice), and Web Guy (Steve Keever).  All we need is someone to preside at the meetings, and poke people along.  One thing I cannot emphasize enough:  You do not need to have a ton of history with the club to be commodore.  We just need the new energy!

Please contact me at, or 206.909.5655 if you are willing to serve.
