Dockton Park Rendezvous, June 19 - 20, 1999

by Ann Erickson

It poured rain in Seattle, but it was quite nice at Dockton with just a few showers as we left on Sunday. Big boats included F-27 Almond Joy, Wayne and Ann Erickson; F-24 Ama Deus, Doug Snyder; and Krystal Ki, Bill and Jennifer and little Zachary Bowman. Kay Pearson visited on Saturday. They live about four blocks away and have their F- 24 Sand Trout moored here. She also let Jerry Dixon use Sand Trout as a guestroom since he arrived by land yacht. Jerry's bride Wynne and their three children arrived Sunday. lngmar and Ebba Endormo were there Sunday only and brought their inflatable kayak to paddle around. Dave Vinson stopped by too.

This was also the occasion of the 3 Meter World Championship Race. Five little boats arrived by Sunday. Jerry Dixon had two boats, Patriot and Phantom. He somehow manages to stuff both of them into and onto his van. Bill Bowman and Doug Snyder got turns racing Phantom, while Jerry sailed away from everyone to win the championship AGAIN. Also racing were Will Marken in Tinkerbell and Ben Kuhner in Slime and Wayne Erickson in Ben's extra boat Shenanigan.

Only five people brought food for the potluck, but it was a perfect meal with one appetizer, homemade humus and chips, one hot dish, tortellini with pesto, two salads, one green and one pasta and one dessert, chocolate cake. Couldn't have been better if we had planned it!

Krystal Ki with Patriot Here Bill Bowman on Krystal Ki lends a hand to Jerry Dixon on the renowned 3-Meter Patriot as Jerry prepares to go out and sail away from everyone in the 3 Meter World Championship Race at Dockton Park.
