Port Ludlow, August 26th & 27thBy Ann Erickson Fair weather, 3 boats and 25 people... Well, there were three boats at the dock. If you count Del Jacobs boat, Wings, which lives on a mooring buoy here and Ingvar and Ebba Andermo's Catakayak, which they brought in their camper and happily paddled about, we had five boats. On the dock were George and Loretta and her brother Stan on Stardancer, Gemini 105, Wayne and Ann Erickson on Almond Joy, F-27 and a new boat to us any way, Janet and Steve Bodelid on Flexible Flyer, a Dragonfly 1000, a very pretty boat they bought in Mexico. The Bodelid's live on Whidbey Island. Because Wayne and Loretta have August birthdays and we figured everyone has a birthday sometime, we were generally having a birthday party with paper napkins and table clothes and a couple of cakes, but it turned into an anniversary party too. Seems the Jacobs were celebrating their 43rd and all their children and grandchildren were here, so they all came. Tom Spear and his friend Sherri stayed at the Jacobs too. Bob Lomax arrived in time for dinner, in his new hippy van painted sky blue with clouds, yet. It turned into quite a party with chicken, halibut, salmon, steaks and sausages on the grill. Next morning we had fifteen at the extremely nice buffet brunch breakfast at the Harbormaster Restaurant right there at the marina. Mark Olsoe and Diane Johnson joined us for breakfast and spent the morning paddling the Jacobs kayaks around. It was a very nice weekend, all around. Click on the photo for a larger view.
