This is a chart of all the races this year. It shows the races and who came out for
each race. The average attendance was 4.25 boats per race. The left side shows the
races listed as being part of the Multihull Cup. Notice that attendance at some of
the Multihull Cup events where among the lowest. I think we need to come to a decision on
what races will be part of the Multihull Cup. Second, will we have any throw outs.
Finally, how do we score them. I think we need to publish this by early January.
Races I propose are Dumawish Head or one of the other races from Souther Sound, Blakely
Rock, Blakely Rock Benifit, Pt Robinson or one of the other Tri-Point Series, NW harvest,
Foulweather Bluff, Shaw Island and Grand Prix. This gives four races in the first
half of the year and four in the second half. I also propose that only six races be scored
so everyone has 2 throw outs in case they can not make it or have a bad race. With
throwouts I propose just a simple low point system with a boat not attending a race
getting points equal to 1 more than the number of boats entered in that race.
As the Multihull cup was set up this year it included the following 8 races: Blakely
Rock, Blakely Rock Benifit, Double Bluff, Shaw Island, Trans Puget, NW Harvest,
Foulweather Bluff and Grand Prix. I will be sending a list to Keith to post of the NWMHA
web site racing section of all races and attendance for this year. The question is what
races do we propose for next year. As Fleet Captain for next year I propose the following:
4 races in the spring and 4 races in the fall. Best 6 of 8. Races I propose are: Duwamish
Head or one other race from Southern Sound Series (which includes Winter Vashion, Toliva
Shoals, Islands Race and Duwamish Heard) Blakely Rock, Blakely Rock Benifit (Also is the
race the Rooster Tail Award is for), Pt. Robinson or other Tri-Points series race (which
includes Double Bluff, Pt. Robinson and Blake Island), NW Harvest, Foulweather Bluff, Shaw
Island and Grand Prix. With 2 throw outs scoring will be on a simple low point system.
Please posts your thoughts on what you think. More races, different races, less races,
more throwouts, etc. I would like to come to a concenus by Thanksgiving. Assistant
